Excursion description
We start your journey in the heart of the city at Tahrir Square, to visit the world’s largest Museum of Ancient Egyptian Art with your personal English-speaking guide. The museum contains works from different epochs of ancient Egyptian cultural history: Early Times, Thintine Period, Old Empire, Middle Empire, New Empire, Third Intermediate Period, Late Period and Greco-Roman Period. Beside many Egyptian treasures you will also see the famous mask of Tutankhamun. Your guide will gladly answer all your questions and provide you with a lot of interesting information.
Afterwards, your personal driver will take you on a tour of the great Sphinx and the breathtaking Pyramids of Giza, a World Heritage Site. The Pyramids of Giza are among the seven wonders of the ancient world and symbolise the kingdom of the Pharaohs. The largest of all pyramids, the Pyramid of Cheops, built in the 4th Dynasty (ca. 2500 BC), reaches an incredible height of 146 meters (481 ft). It is hard to imagine that all this was created by human hands. Our driver will bring you very close to our sights to save you long walks. You also drive together to a point from where you can see all three pyramids and take wonderful pictures.
In between we take you to a typical Egyptian restaurant. Here we relax together at lunch and enjoy the Egyptian flair.
In consultation with your local guide, you can also add individual excursion points to your programme, for example a trip to the step pyramids in Sakkara or a short boat trip on the Nile.
